Keeps calling and hangs up

This late night caller from NY asked me if I was on the Do Not Call list. I'm in Canada. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he put the phone down to speak to someone about my request. Could hear many people on phones in the background.

They're doing the same thing to me, too! VERY unprofessional. They're screaming at each other before I answer the phone and the guy who called the last time (3rd time in 30 minutes) started screaming ebonics at me.

Claims to be from the IRS and that they are going to take legal action to place liens on all of my assets and bank accounts in 24 hours unless I call to finish paper work to settle my debts. Bet all they want is my bank account numbers.

scam...don't answer

Mar 27, 2015 07:09 AM

I couldn't tell exactly what the accent was, either Indian or Middle Eastern. Here's the message which was somewhat entertaining, especially the last sentence: "This is officer Alex Watson calling from legal department of Internal Revenue Service. This is in reference to a criminal suit filed against... Your case number is 3H9446. The moment you receive this message, I need you or your attorney of records to return the call. This {muffled} extremely time sensitive. My phone number is 619-378-0051. Do not ... disregard this message and do return the call. Now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either, then the only thing I can do is wish you a good luck as the situation unfolds on you." The last sentence really gave it away, I'm just afraid that when their grammar gets better, more people may fall for this kind of scam.
