Received call stating there was legal action being pursued against me. Called back, man stated he was calling on behalf of a law firm and they were pursuing me for fraud related to a pay day loan I hadn't paid back. Man stated multiple times his name was Ricky Willis, and that he was recording conversation for use at trial. Gave me the supposed date, amount, my full name, address, social security #, and where i had a bank account at. Remained on the line while i pulled my own records to prove this transaction did not occur. Man then told me they'd "be in touch." Stated his company was supposedly titled "pre-trial processing"....because that sounds like the full name of a company. Do not talk or engage with this man.

Pain relief cream scam and though I'm usually on to these guys I'm on pain management and have a concussion right now. I was foolish enough too press 5. Thank goodness any records to do with this number don't match my current address. Any way to block these thing on a dumb phone? I've been innundated lately with hang ups and Spanish robo-calls.
Caller states applied for grant, never have so it's fraud, scam, or lying telemarketing.
This is a legitimate number for American Express. However I did not recognize it and called using the customer service number on my card to verify, and would always advise others to do the same. If you ever suspect a number calling you is not legit you should use the numbers to contact them on your most recent bill and check.
