is a scam that claims to be the us department of treasury but lacks the knowledge that the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) only contacts citizens through mail.

Do not have an account with Verizon...Have tried to tell them numerous "if" I want to remove my number so they do NOT call I have to go thru a series of press "1", press "3" then I get put on hold for the next available representative. I don't think so.

This is a legitimate number. They call 5 times a day because they want to reach you. They have called me over a few days at 8am, 10am, noon, 3pm, 5pm, and 8pm. I have a caller ID app on my phone that was reporting the number as suspect so I wasn't answering it. When I did, I found out it was the collections department of Barclays (Barclaycard credit card). I missed a payment last month and they were trying to collect to get my account current. They waived the penalty with a payment. Just answer the phone. They told me who they were and didn't ask me for my personal info but verified that they had the right person, told me what they had on file for me, my delinquent credit card info, ect. So if you get someone asking you for your social security number right away, that's suspicious for sure. That didn't happen on my call. Person was very professional and polite. I can't believe I'm writing this, but it was one of the few times I can remember thinking that, and wasn't frustrated by the person on the other end of the line. That's pretty much what motivated me to write this message. For whats it worth....
