I received a call Nov 18, '10 at 10:38am requesting a donation for Breast Cancer. I agreed I would and the young lady put her supervisor on who proceeded to confirm my address and the donation amount. I interrupted and asked do I have a choice on the donation amount she paused, said, yes and then went back to my address then hung up. Now this is the kicker. The phone didn't complete go on hook, and she began to complain that I was an asshole and very rude. The other young lady informed he was very polite to me.
So because I asked a question, I'm an asshole...well I wanted to give more, oh well...now you get nothing.
This is a general solicitor for charities called the Campaign Center. They keep most of the profits for a various number of charities. Call their direct line at (631) 226-5200 and tell them you want to be removed from all their lists.

I just received a call from 631-930-5142 which stopped after 4 rings. I called the number back but it was busy. I then called t he number suggested in the report above, and asked that my number be removed from their call list. They seemed happy enough to do it. So Deb was correct. Thank you.

I received a call from 631 930 5242. When I picked it up and said Hello they just hung up. Didn't even have the courtesy to say wrong number. Not knowing who was calling me I called back. The man, and I use the term lightly. denied calling me. Said he hadn't called me but had made a call to a 212 number earlier. From other comments on this page it would seem that someone from the Marine Corps League is abusing this number. If I could contact him again he would probably say he miss spoke like Blumenthal who hasn't the guts to say he lied.
In plain English miss spoke is a synonym for I lied.

This telemarketer has many clients. I was called 20 times over the past few days, only to receive a "hang-up" when answered. Today, I actually spoke to a person who was collecting for Suffolk County PAL. When I asked to be taken off the call list, he hung up.
You should file a complaint with the National DNC Regstry at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2. I also called the local PAL headquarters to complain.
