Male caller claims to be working for NALC Health Benefit Plan. Wanted to tell me about a new service offered to me to have an RN call me or stop by my home to check on me! I said "no" and the caller acted like he did not hear me say NO! Caller waned me to "just verify my information, starting with my DOB! I told him I do not "verify" anything over the phone. Caller wanted to continue.... I told him not to call this number again and I hung up the phone. (This call was recorded at 5:28 pm.)

On Aug.30, 2010 I called their number 1-800-227-3728, believing it to be a toll-free number. My Reach-Out cell phone tells me my balance at the beginning of each call. In this case it said I had $20 and some-odd cents. AccordantCare (name now changed to Alere) switched me from person to person, each asking me a series of questions confirming my cantact info and some health history. This took so long my phone became warm to the touch and started making noises to indicate it needed to be re-charged. When I fianlly hung up, I picked up my phone and dialed another call. The Reach-Out voice then told me my balance was $8 and some odd cents! On a fixed income, $12 ia a lot to lose.

AccordantCare is a CVS/Caremark Co. Its a no cost wellness program for people with "common chronic" illnesses. dm, ast, pn, cad, copd, etc.
