This number 202-545-6966 called my cell phone three times this week. april 20th 2015 thru april 23rd 2015. The first call claimed to be the IRS and had my full name and address, after asking to confirm my information the person demanded my mother's maiden name or I would be "instantly prosecuted". The second caller claimed to be from Wells Fargo Bank. (yeah, right!) The third and final caller offered me a "Payday Loan" The IRS will never ask for private information over the phone. DEMAND any requests in writing. ALWAYS. I wish I had the resources to call them all day and spoil the obvious SCAM they are perpetrating.
This is a scam. The person said they were from Microsoft, but that is not true. A box on my computer said I had a virus and to call this number. I made the mistake of calling and they tried to charge me $170.00 for finding viruses on my computer that did not exist. This number is not Microsoft but looks convincing especially when the box says your computer is under attack. The person on the other end of the line had a heavy Indian accent.
