This has been once or twice daily India based scam. Disguises as (912) 3XX-XXXX number. Tried and failed with expert advice. So I answered the call: "Telephone fraud division. How can I help you?" One syllable was uttered in reply. Then the disconnect.

Scam

Calls once daily. Randomized phone number ID. I've been immediately hanging up on answer. This time I hit answer button but didn't say anything. A male with a deep south Asia accent spoke up "hello, how are you?" I still said nothing. He hung up after a pause.

Hangs up without leaving VM. It's a daily call with randomized phone numbers.

There's a series of these from this area code. Always hangs up before Voice-mail. The county sheriff was interviewed on the news explaining of a scam.
