Legit call from Comcast about internet service, BUT it should have been an email

Yes. Have received several calls. Used to have Comcast Xfinity but cancelled because of numerous issues. When Jay told me he was Xfinity I hung up. I want nothing to do with Comcast.

Claims to be Comcast and that my security was turned off. Threatened to shut off my internet for 3 months because it was compromised and I wouldn't comply with him instructions

I received a call from someone stating they are calling from Xfinity Tech support. They asked if my modem had been changed in the past couple of days. They asked if I was nearby the modem. I wasn't so they said when you get home..... I never said I wasn't. But they said to call back 1-800-934-6489 so they can set my modem to the correct security level. I googled this and Comcast doesn't call you unless you have contacted them about an issue. SCAM!!!!!!

Caller with heavy accent tried to cancel scheduled Comcast service call. I demanded that service tech show up.

I have no idea who calling my phone number

Received a call and robo left voice message about sending text for password reset. I do not have an account with Comcast or XFinity. I blocked the number.

The woman acted as though comcast now had a "maintenance package" that cost $99, and it had to be paid to get the signal sent when there's a stuck welcome screen. I might have believed her, had I not been through this process before. Comcast is now 1-800-Comcast.

Comcast calling to troubleshoot my system. Legitimate call.

Called 3x daily, I finally answered. Spoofed Comcast Business name shows up with #800-266-2278. Called said someone from across the country was using my IP address and that they needed access to my account to increase my firewall. NOPE NOPE NOPE. I hung up and called Comcast myself. This is a SCAM.

Called twice this week, very early in the morning. Recording stated they were from xfinity, gave their address & asked me to call back with info about my “internet equipment.” Obviously trying to sound legit up until that laughable information request.
