H & R BLOCK

They said that they were from H & R Block. "The IRS rejected my return." They asked if I did my own return. I said, "Yes" & asked for the rejection code which wasn't given. Can they do anything with that information? How did they get my number?

Called saying this was Luis from H&R Block, and had my tax preparer's name. Said my filing was rejected by IRS. Let him know that I already have taken care of the matter, and if there was anything further. The guy said no, same thing. Did call my preparer, and they said that sometimes people from their call center will do follow up calls if there are issues.

I received the same call today. They left a voice mail about my IRS tax return status. Since I had been in the H&R Block office last week, I didn't question the call. When I called 877-443-0949, I was told the IRS rejected my filing. I told the woman I hadn't yet filed. She said she would have a rep call me back because it was possible someone was using my SSN. I said no thanks and that I would call my local H&R Block. It's a scam. Be careful!

Caller ID: Happy B Day. Got Happy Birthday message left on voicemail. At the end of the call they identified themselves as being my insurance agent with a local number to call and let them know I got the birthday wishes.

Just got a call. It's an IRS scam call. This was an automated call claiming that there is a federal lawsuit.

This is NOT legitimate!!! I received a call from 877-443-0949 claiming to be H & R Block. The caller told me that my e-file tax return was rejected by the IRS. They said they were H & R Block and would refer me to my local office in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The red flag went up IMMEDIATELY!!! Not only do I NOT live in Mt. Pleasant, I don't even live in Michigan. I wrote down the phone number and called H & R Block. While I was waiting for an agent to take my call, I went to the H & R Block website. Nothing wrong there, so I went to the IRS website. Not only was my return NOT rejected, my refund is scheduled to go out the first part of May. H & R Block did not have any record of attempting to contact me. They took the number and filed a complaint on my behalf. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

Guy calls me and says there's a lawsuit against me. I told him to stop calling me and he said hes going to send the police right away and hung up.

They called me and left a voicemail saying this is my final notice. The IRS is filing suit and I need to call this number to get more info regarding this case file. I tried to call the # back & got a busy signal or the call wouldn't go through. I then googled the # and got this site. I also Googled IRS scam and found out that the IRS would never leave a robo voicemail. I have been nauseous for 2 days. There are really sick people out there!

GOT a straight to voicemail message stating that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. this was my third and final warning. didn't bother to call them back.

Called them to tell them to stop calling me. The man on the other end said that I had "F**ked myself" and that he would be calling day and night now. Not much change since that was already happening anyways. I told him that I would be contacting the authorities and hung up. 20 minutes later I had reported them to the TIGTA, the FTC, and the IRS. However, my alphabet soup of revenge was not truly complete until I Rick Rolled them a few times. I suggest you all do the same. :)

Step 1: Call them using either skype or *67 to conceal your number.

Step 2: Play 'Never Gonna Give You Up' into the mic.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 & 2

I just received a call from this number as well. They told me that I owed $8,200 in back taxes from 2009-2014. They were trying to demand full payment or partial payment to set up a payment plan. When I searched the number because they started getting angry at me and found out it was a scam; they hung up on me immediately.

I just received 3 calls from them in the last hour and when I call back, they asked me directly for my information. Full name, address and before I gave her any of my information, I looked up the phone number and saw this blog. I just told her where she can shove her lawsuit and hung up! Thanks to everyone for posting this kind of information.

They called stating hey where IRS and that there was a law suit. Not that if IRS has a concern is will be done via the mail and not a call. Beware of these scammers.

Just received thThankful is message on my phone. It is a machine. I blocked it. The IRS does not contact you in this manner.

yes, got the call, automated, thank god for blogs! but if you notice, they dont ever address you personally, block the number.

We have received calls from this number stating they are the IRS but we know the IRS does not make phone calls. They state they are going to sue us, I do not answer such calls we are not that stupid as they think we are so they might as well quit calling.

This nigerian scam artist want your money!
