I was contacted on my cell phone, but I missed the call. I did not recignize the phone number, and they did not leave a message. I did not call back, don't want to waste my phone time on scammers.
I got call today, and said I owed money told him to mail something out. we will see.
Stated that they are trying to notify me that I owe someone money, wouldn't give that information. Then proceeded to tell me that since I would not confirm my SS # I am directly refusing to pay and that company that I owe will proceed forward with state law to obtain that money. Pretty sure that's saying there going to sue me without directly stating that. When I told him that I would like something sent in the mail, he told me to go online and look up my claim then hung up. SCAM
Gave a claim number, but wouldn't say who it was from.
Gave a claim number will not tell who they are trying to collect for
I received a call from a number 866-668-3516. The lady would not provide the companies address, only identifying themselves as Trans America Consumer Collection Service when I asked for their physical address they quoted an old address back to me that they had on file from another state not disclosing the full address. The lady proceeded to get me a supervisor which I never asked for. The supervisor hopped on the phone and attempted to quote the law to me after I informed her I have no idea what the debt was referring to. I asked for validation to be sent to my home address they informed me they would not do that. I told them Do not call my phone NO MORE. The supervisor said we will notate the account as refusal to pay which they said the same thing yesterday and said we will escalate the case. THE COMPANY IS A SCAM....
I received a call at my place of employment and also on my cell the woman said she was calling from TACS (Trans America Consumer Services) She advised that I had an outstanding payday loan that I took out in 2011 (Which I never did) and the funds were deposited into my First California bank account. (I live in Pittsburgh PA) she stated that the loan was for $400.00 but I now owed 656.00 due to fees. I played along and asked her for her mailing address so I could mail them a check and she said due to security reasons she couldn't give it to me.What a joke!!
I advised her never to call either number again and reported it ASAP.. This is such a SCAM

Received phone call from this so called company for a same day loan that I took out in 2013 which I never did I will not give them any information and am calling the FBI they are corrupt and are complete frauds
If this the same TransAmerica Consumer Services, then they are using another phone number. I just received a call from TACS at 855-904-7781 claiming I still owe a payday loan which is not the case. I tried getting a company address but they would not give it to me.
This company have been calling me saying that they are trying to collect money that my husband owed for a payday loan. They claim that he took a loan from the information they gave us but they account they said the money was deposited we did not open that account until a year after they came he took the Loan. They tried to collect this death before and we told we were not paying it so they stop for a while and started back this week.. THIS IS SUCH A SCAM
844-510-1813 Same story as everyone else. They call saying they are a collection agency, trying to collect on a payday loan I took out in 2011. When asked for proof of this loan to be sent to me, they couldn't send anything by mail, only by email. They emailed me a document from the "Financial Control Division" no real information about what ever company I would have taken this loan out from. The bottom of the document listed "Findmydebt.info" as the website. Also a couple additional phone numbers: (888)868-1632 and 305-902-5937. When I called the number today from another phone, I spoke to an Indian guy named "Eric". I asked him what company this is. He said "Financial Control Division". I asked "you are a division of what company?" he said "TACS". I asked what that stood for. He said "Trans America Consumer Services". I think they use that name in an attempt to sound like they are the Transamerica Bank that everyone has heard of. They were rude. I told them to stop calling me and stop calling my elderly parents. They yelled that they are attempting to collect on a debt and they can call whomever they want, and hung up on me. I've found this info on several scam sites, including the Federal Trade Commission site. Exact same script: that it is a loan from 2011. They are a scam!!!!
Called from this number 888-338-5357. reported details to FBI and Federal Trade Comm.
My wife and I are both getting calls from multiple numbers and have blocked them, but they keep coming from new numbers. When I have answered, there is a recording saying that the message is intended for my wife. I followed up with a rep once and they tried to get me to pay for some debt that was in collections from 8 years ago. She said the amount was around $350. The info she had was from a payday loan and was paid off. They threatened litigation if it was not paid over the phone then and there. I told them we have not received anything in the mail. She replied that they don't have our most recent address. I told her that if they want to take us to court, that will be a problem. I even gave them my e-mail address for communication and have received nothing yet. Don't give them any information!
I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER FROM AN AUTOMATIC MACHINE ASKING FOR MY DAUGHTERS FATHERS NIECE. WEIRD HUH. FINALLY, I CALLED BACK. THEY CALL THEMSELVES TRANSAMERICA CONSUMER SERVICE.
THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU OWE. THEY WILL NAME EVERY PAYDAY LOAN IN THE INDUSTRY AND SAY ITS ONE OF THEM AND THEY ARE A THIRD PARTY COLLECTING ON THEIR BEHALF. THIS IS JUST LIKE THE IRS PHONE SCAMS. BY THE WAY, DON'T PAY THOSE EITHER. THE IRS WILL NEVER CALL YOU AND ASK FOR MONEY OVER THE PHONE TO BE PAID IN GIFT CARDS. LOL. ANYWAY, THEY GAVE ME A WEBSITE TO GO TO TO PAY FIRST 70% NOW 60% OF THE DEBT, IN 2 PAYMENTS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. TO PAY YOU GO TO "FINDMYDEBT.INFO" THIS IS SPAM. THEY WILL COLLECT ALL OF YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION AND STEAL YOUR IDENTITY AND MONEY. DO NOT EVER ACCESS IT. GOOD LUCK ALL. I SUGGEST YOU BLOCK THE NUMBER(S).
They keep calling me, looking for some guy I've never heard of.
They have been calling me for two years. I am still waiting for the alleged litigation that will take place. They continue to call in the beginning of the year. What pisses me off is how much of my personal information they have for a debt that I do not owe. They can't even give time an exact date for the debt but want me to confirm my address and social. I don't think so. I'm going to put a fraud alert on my credit just in case.
I think this started for me in 2009. It's all related to Payday loans and anything of the like that you have done. They started off calling me saying they are serving me at my job in a couple of hours or that the sheriff will be at my house when I get home to serve me. All in attempts to rush me to settle the debt 'before that happens'. Initially it was a wicked sounding thick Indian accent guy. I was initially scared of the embarrassment the serving would be. I had made promises to come up with the money but never could but thanks to the internet read how many others experienced this, asked for validation of debt and something in the mail. Never happened. They eventually give up if you just are too much work by dragging it out over days and weeks to pay or whatever. That's one strategy but who has time for all of that.
I have switched jobs and moved over the years (not because of them) but not changed my phone number. It had stopped for a long while. Then I made a mistake and applied for another payday loan and got it (if I owed on one this wouldn't have worked right). This company required my work number and I gave it. Next thing you know the calls began at my new job to my extension. Initially, I thought these creeps had found my resume online somewhere showing my work place and then called my company who gave them my work number. I'm really not sure how they got it but either the loan place sold my info or the latter. Nevertheless, the calls do not stop. They never will as long as you are findable or they can find someone willing to give them your new information. You would think they'd know that there are statutes of limitations that expire well before 7 years. They bank on our ignorance but as long as we all keep updating the phone numbers and company names (they keep changing them) then we can ensure no one gets taken for the money they really do not owe these creeps. Proof of this debt will not be mailed to you. It will not be on your credit report and it won't prevent you from getting another Payday loan. These creeps are persistent and use a lot of tactics to obtain info but they are not legitimate. Not even a little.
So, if you've ever applied for a payday or subprime loan of any kind chances are these creeps have bought access (legitimately through the network) to your information. That's how they find you or that's how they are trying to find the person who had your phone number. The best thing is to be as private as you can with your online presence and to not borrow from subprime places unless you really have to.
Best of luck everyone! (oh and the call type should be Scammer)
Same here! Received multiple calls under my maiden name talking about a payday loan from 2012 (that I have proof I paid off) and that if I did not call back and settle it today that I would be going to litigations and sued for bank fraud. First off, I know I don't owe anything. Its not on my credit report. Second, She refused to send me proof in writing. Third, This was from January of 2012, in my state its already past the 4 years that they can sue me to collect anyway! Statue for debt collection is 4 years in PA. I got emails and my family has even gotten calls saying Im going to be sued. This is harassment. It seems like once I get one "company" to stop calling, another pops up in its place. I read somewhere that they sell the info to each other. Damn shame.
They have been calling me from multiple numbers, this being the latest. I actually answered the call this time and pushed the option to talk with an operator. Shawna answered (with a heavy Jamaican accent) quoting me my entire SSN, my address, and the last four of my bank account number saying that I owed over $400 from a payday loan I did not payback. I said I didn't know what she was talking about and she must have received false information because I had recently refinanced my home and nothing showed up on my credit report. She continued to argue with me. I said I was done talking and hung up. She called me right back from 866-514-9653 and left a voicemail (since I didn't answer) that I had forfeited my right to settlement and that the information will now be passed on to the legal system as well as the 3 credit bureau agencies. I say good, maybe they'll stop calling me now. I will NEVER deal with a payday loan again because I think at some point they sold their lists to someone.
Just like what everyone here is saying. When we first got the call my family went into red alert, because we just untangled my little brother from debt after a five year battle - he is disabled and predatory companies like disabled people. I had all the info from the court after the incident, and spoke with a rep. named Monique. I figured this thing was some sort of scam due to the 'call is monitored to insure protection' was exempted; they also spoke with me disregarding the fact we have not proceeded with legal matters and have not sought the appropriate paperwork to proceed with the legal matters of this issue they have with my brother. I constantly tried to get them to send information and get in contact with us; they however, left a message stating that matter had escalated - I'm tired of this BS by now. Called them up one last time to set matters straight and get information so we could 'do' the whole court proceeding going, but this Monique person wanted us to go to this findmydebt.info so WE can GIVE them some information, she also looped back to requesting the last 4 digits of his SS#. I mentioned that we'd already looked up this facility she works from and found this report page for the scam, and she asks, "Do you believe everything you see on the internet." Ooh, scary. I said, "I'm inclined to believe my attorney over a random company that calls out of the blue." And we ended the call.
They call me saying that I owe payday loan and they r collection agency. They spam. Never had payday loan.
Same as the 888-868-2017...saying I owe an unpaid payday loan from 2013.
