Microsoft windows scam. Attempt to receive passwords. computer fraud.

Also received a call from this number. sounded total scam. Heavy accent Indian guy wanted me to go to my computer so he could walk me through fixing my computer problem of someone hacking into it! said he was with Windows Anti-hacking department. Said his name was John. even gave 866-539-8674 number. beware!!!!

He wanted me to purchase support to protect my computer from hackers. Identified himself as someone from the "Windows Service Desk". I asked if he was from Microsoft and he said no. I then told him I was on the Do Not Call List and he said but you have a Windows computer.

Windows security services claiming a problem with my operating system. They claimed they were authorized by Windows.
I said Windows doesn't make such calls and I suspected he was "Fishing". The caller immediately unloaded a string of foul curses and I hung up.
Other calls have been received from this type of company. Dates unknown.

Caller: Windows (I'm fairly certain that is a false claim.)

Called from the Microsoft Help Desk using a thick Indian accent. He wanted to log in to my computer to get rid of viruses.

Left no message on answering machine. Call back showed this is not a working number. Probably a scam.
