Unexpected call on my personal Android at work. I declined the call. No voice message was left. I figure if you know me and can't at least say, "Hi it's me," on my voice mail I don't care what you had to say anyway. Whoever it was used a free New Jersey phone number from a company named PINGER.

I've read complaints about this number on 4 other websites. I think it's most likely a pimply 14 year old boy who wrote a cellphone and text blocking app. Perhaps he's doing this in order to build his e-company so he can sell it and become a millionaire get publicly sued, write a book, and make a movie. I'm thinking he's has his computer spoofing these free PINGER caller ID numbers to annoy cell phone users so they'll buy his Android app.

Or maybe he's been up all week on bath salts, huffing meth and whipped cream propellant, and believes he's extremely lonely, floating in outer space, and if he dials the right cellphone number a wormhole will open and drop him back on Earth with his friends.

You do not want to talk to whoever is making these calls. And if you think you can get 'em to stop by calling and asking nicely, begging and crying, threatening to report 'em to the police, the phone company, the FCC, your Congressman, NASA, and the CIA and to sue him or go with 20 of your best friends and beat him to death, he's not going to stop calling.

I'll share a free tip on getting people to stop calling you though if you're interested. It goes like this: Call them several times a day, every day, at random intervals and stay on the phone talking excitedly to them, rave about how wonderful it is to hear from them and beg them to call you, and whatever you do, don't let them get off the phone, and never be the first to hang up. I swear, it works on the toughest nuts. But it won't work on these guys. So don't answer and don't call them back.

And don't buy the app. Just get your cell phones put on the cell phone do not call list 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

Hi, it's me again, sheepishly returning to warn you against calling in the number above. I got it from a professional newsletter from the local landlord association. Apparently, it's a hoax and they will start calling you mercilessly.
