I also received a call from a woman with an accent stating her name was Lisa Johnson. She was accusing my husband of tax fraud. She left a voice mail to call her back immediately due to the situation being urgent. What a SCAM!
Woman with an Indian accent called me to say that I was going to be arrested for tax fraud and she was calling to warn me. When I asked for another # to call back to verify that she was really from the IRS, she gave me the same number she was calling from which is a cell phone number. I went to WWW.TIGTA.COM and filed a complaint about this fraudulent call
I received the same call today. First was a person named "Paul Smith" who transferred me to his supervisor, "Lisa Johnson". They stated that there is a law suit filed against me for tax fraud. I asked for something to be sent to me in writing and they said that they couldn't do that. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was given to "Mark Cooper". I asked for IRD badge numbers and a case number, which made it sound legit. He couldn't provide me with any other information. They all had (what sounds like) an Indian accent.
I received a similar call today from a Mark Cooper who spoke the same threats that are noted in above comments.
He was unable to provide me any assurance of the legitimacy of the call, so I hung up.
Indian man calling saying he was with the IRS and that the cops would be at my house to arrest me if I didn't call him back I call back, he asks my name then he ask for my phone number because he cannot find my file with out the phone number, I decline because if you are the IRS you can find my file without my phone number, he hangs up!
