Anonymous, we are having same call. Almost to exact details. This call would scare some, but we realize the call is from hackers. Thanks for writing your details, hopefully other will look here and not be afraid to hang up on these people

I have received at least 4 calls this year from an organization fraudulently claiming to be the IRS. The caller has a thick accent (sounds like it is Indian)- today he claimed his name was Officer Jack Thomas. Each message they claim that there are 3 "outstanding cases against" me, and pending Federal charges, requesting that I return their calls ASAP. Phone number (202)241-7451 (which is a magic jack number. Knowing this is a scam, I called back asking for more information. The same person answered the call, and referred to himself as "Dan Martin". When I asked which division of the IRS he represented he replied, "Tax and Audit Department" I requested additional info, and he gave me a phony case number, and told me there is an outstanding arrest warrant out for me. I was told I could have more information and he would send my file to the police, or I could settle the matter peacefully with him (but without any information). He was obviously attempting to extort cash from me. I pushed for more detailed information and was told my call was being recorded, and I was under legal obligation to tell only the truth, and any information I disclosed may be used as evidence against me. I further inquired about the nature of the case, and was immediately told that he could tell me the information or send my file over to the police. I responded that I am a big fan of my local law enforcement, and that he was welcome to send my file to them, but I would still like to hear the details of my case. At this point the man on the phone said he would not give me any more information, and was sending the police to my door immediately; and then proceeded to hang up on me. I called them back, and again requested the information on my "case". The man at the other end of the phone became extremely agitated and told me to stop harassing them, the police were already on their way to my home. I indicated that was fine, and again requested the information. He told me to call his manager at 954-874-5242 (there was no answer when I tried). I called (202)241-7451, again and the same man picked up the phone using a different voice said " Hello Honey. How are you? Why don't you stay where you are and I'll be there in 45 minutes to shut you up myself." I asked if he was personally threatening me, and he said he was. He would be at my home soon. When I asked for the address of his office, he gave me the IRS' address 1111 Constitution Ave NW.
