why aren't the feds shutting this down?
Yes I received a call and the same routine that they would not talk to me but only my wife - they then told her that for leniency they would accept her cooperation with the grand jury. This caused some significant stress. This is not harmless. IF there are SEVERAL sites on the web reporting this scam why can it not be shut down?
Called and asked for my boss who was out of town. Said his name was Shawn Miller, Had a Pakistani accent. Gave me his name and number and told me to have my boss call him back. When I asked him what message he wanted me to make, he said, "No. I am from the Dept. of legal affairs of the U.S Treasury, and this is a confidential matter so I cannot discuss it with YOU!" That's verbatim and the exclamation on YOU is accurate to how he said it. Needless to say, after reading these posts, I will not be passing this message along to my boss.
I got a call from this number. Said his name was Danny Archer, said that there is an action filed against me by the us treasury. Ignoring the call would bring a second attempt to contact me and that I would have to appear befor a magistrate or federal grand jury. And help me to help you. He didn't ask for a spacific person only that this was an Atempt to contact you. Please!
Yep - I got a call from Shawn Miller telling me there is action filed against me by the US treasury and to call a number. It was so comical I had to see what all he had to say. He had a middle eastern accent and said I need to talk to a senior officer in order to get the details. I asked why they wouldn't send me a letter and he said I just needed to call the number. Lol - that was a good one.
Says he is Sean (or Shawn) Miller; says enforcement action US Treasury, ignoring will mean 2nd attempt to avoid initial appearance before magistrate judge or grand jury for Federal criminal offense. Total scam.
