Might give them made up numbers for a card they tell me to purchase

I was called from 217-548-7640 and told that I qualified for a $9,000 grant. I had to call 202-455-6680, who told me it was only $8,000. For cash-in-hand, I needed to purchase an eBay card for $200 and then call them from the store. I asked why the government would use eBay to transfer money and they could not give me a direct answer. I told them I would think about it and I hung up. Smells like a scam to me but it was denied when I asked the lady that question.

I just rec'd a phone call...$8k, and I was asked the same -- stay on the line with the CSR and bring $150!

Did anyone actually get the money?

I got a call stating I was picked for this grant of $8000. All I needed to do is go to Walmart and register $200 with Walmart make sure I bring my I’d and I wouldnt be sending on money but I would get the $8000 grant. I had to call Caroline @ ext 102 and stay on the phone with thought out the whole transaction Number comes up Washington DC.
