Called me yesterday. I answered, it rang a foreign woman claiming to be US Govt Grant Dept. Said I was chosen for $9k grant that never needs paid back, only a few thousand people chosen. I was selected for having no criminal record, etc. Asked my name, zip code, and age as verifications she had the right person. Gave me a phone # 408-890-2003 & an approval # to claim grant.

I answered and then the phone rang them (obviously some type of robo-dial thing). A heavily accented woman answered and said "United Government Grants Department" and I hung up. Obviously a scam

Me llamaron de este numero diciwndonque había ganado una beca en la universidad de riverside California, y q por no contestar sus llamadas tenia una demanda en la corte federal, dijeron que con solo contestar ya la había tomado ahora quieren que les pague 3000, a 4000 pero veo que es estafa , hasta dijeron que hiban a intervenir mi numero dentelefono

A foreign female voice answered and said I won a grant over $9000.00 and it didn't need to be paid back. she said the reason for me getting the call from the US Grant Department was that I didn't have any criminal record and I was an outstanding citizen. So I asked her if she knew my name. she kept saying don't you know your name? I said if you know I'm that good of a person then you should know who you are talking to. Who am I? She hung up on me then.

When I answered, the phone rang, and a heavy accent female answered that she was calling from the "US Grant department". She was calling my work cell phone, so I knew immediately it was a scam and hung up. I didn't let her get to the "you won a grant" claim.

Got a call from this number yesterday. I believe that the caller identified herself as the "United States Federal Grant Department", but I couldn't quite make that out due to her Indian accent. I said I couldn't understand her and I asked her to repeat herself. I asked it again after her second attempt at English, at which point she (apparently irritated) hung up on me. I didn't make it to the presumed "scam" phase of the call, but I'll list it as a scam anyway.

Got the call this morning. Same spiel. Got a grant, 9,000 dollars. I said no thank you and they hung up.

number appeared on my cell phone, did not answer waited for a message, nothing. I called the number back from my work phone . Answering machine said to leave a message for the caller.

Just got another call from these scammers. I filed a report with the FCC, and I urge everyone to do the same. The more complaints they received, the more apt they are to shut them down.

Sounds like a scam. Said I qualified for a "grant" of ~$9000. I asked if it was a scam, they said "do i want it or not?"
Hung up.

Just got a call from a foreign sounding woman and said I was elegilble for 9,000 + and how did I want to receive my money. i told her I wanted something in writing and I wouldn't give anything over the phone. amd hung up on her.

I also got a call from the "US Grant Department" saying I had been chosen for something and figured it was a scam so hung up.

This number just called me and a foreign man who couldn't use english very well was on the other end. He asked for me to give him my last name when I answered and he wanted to know if my husband was home or not and asked if I could meet him when my husband isn't home for coffee and dinner. He said he knew my husband that my husband has told him to contact me to meet up with him for a few days. He also said that my husband had received $2,000 to do this. He could not produce any information about who my husband was or who he worked for even though he said he knew these things about him and knew him well.

You should be concerned more than any of us.
If he is claiming he knows everything about your husband than you this a problem in my opinion.
I suggest you call your local authority immediatly!
