Called, left no message but there are a lot of spammers out there. If I don't know the number and they don't leave a message there must be a problem. I am on the national DO NOT CALL list but if this originated from another country they would not adhere to our federal rules
I also got a call from this #. I am from FL and this happened while i was in VA for work.
I was told the same thing that was told to "BEEP" above. But in my case I asked the lady with an Indian accent where she was calling me from thinking she was calling from a call center in India, but she told me she was calling from NY, i asked how come your # is showing from a Washington DC area? She quickly ignored my question and asked me how do I want to get my money. Then I told her you will be reported to the no call list because my # is registered. She replied " ok F* you" and hang up on me.
BTW, The US does not have a dep. Called "Grant"
They called multiple times within minutes but didn't leave a voice mail. They answered "US Grant Department" when I called them back. When I asked how I qualified, they said my phone number qualified. I asked how they got my phone number (I am a college student that thought this might have been somehow connected to a FAFSA application) and the woman just said "You qualify for $9,250 that you don't have to pay back" and then just hung up on me (seemingly annoyed that I had so many questions and refused to give any identifying information).
