I got the same can about fraud saying I would be arrested and jailed for 35 years if I didn't pay a fine for fraud and he had an accent and the number comes up from Washington, DC. I've gotten other calls from other agents with the same accents from the same area codes but different numbers all referencing the same thing. They told me they already had issued a warrant for my arrest and I called my local police department to come to my house and run my name to see if I did and there was nothing. They said it was a scam.
Employees at western union sell this info to scammers
This same person called me 4/5/21 from phone number 952-333-2565 claimed to be agent from the Federal Trade Commission, Fraud Department. He stated exact amount a sent through Western Union and the recipient's name as well as my date of birth. How did this happen? He claimed he was sending the cops with arrest warrant if I did not cooperate. Of course I did not cooperate so he called again on 4/8/21 from 202 470 3363 asking me to call back otherwise I will be arrested within 24 hours. And he was representing and calling on behalf of IRS and the Federal Trade Commission, Fraud Department. He has an accent, he might not even be in the United States. How is he getting all this information? Is western Union system breached?
