Received this call from Washington DC, a lot of static and a little kid, thought maybe someone got hold of parents cell, but then I heard a man hushing the person then they hung up. So I called back and a recording stated that the number had been disconnected

Yes this number call me about a grant and wife before I report for the first time but this is not first time

On 03/25/2015 received a unknown call stating that I had qualified for a $9200.00 grant. She stated that I had been selected because I had paid my taxes on time and that I had no criminal record in the last six months I was given this number to call back 202-657-5198. She had a Indian accent and said her name was Alish Rulan. I was told to call this number and provide ID code GG6600 and would be told when and where to get my grant. Sge also stated that she was from the US Office of Personnel.

Yup got a call from this number, same exact story, feel kinda dumb that I almost fell for it but I caked the police and then Google it

The call came from an "unavailable" number. A man with a heavy accent identified himself as David Russell and told me I had been approved for a $9000 grant from the government and to claim it I needed to call the number above. Obvious scam. I just wish it came from an available number so I could block it.

this was a 2 call scam. The first call was from an +1 (1) (254) 5 number. I only answered because the 254 is the area code in Temple, TX where the VA is located. I was told I had qualified for a $9200 grant from the government and given the other number to call. I called and the person answering gave me his name and verified the information I received from the earlier call. I was directed to go to a Moneygram location with phone, ID and $250 for a deposit. I told him I would call him back and he gave his extension as 163. Finally he told me not to tell anyone at the Moneygram location about the grant or I would be charged $1500 by moneygram. He claimed to be with the Treasury Dept and the survey that qualified me was conducted every 5 years by the Health and Human Services.

on 2-12-2015 received a phone call saying i won a grant of 9,000 dollars. They also gave me an ID number GG-1001 and said I had to call to receive the grant.

Same here. I told her if she wants to make this more believable at least don't say her name is Oliver Smith when it is obvious her accent tells me otherwise.

On 1/12/2015 I received a call from a person whom claimed he's calling from Washington. This person, said I was chosen out of millions of people to receive a 10,000 dollars grant to use it as I please except gambling and smoking and stated that it's bad for me. He repeated several times that to be able to receive this grant, I will have to call 202-657-5198 immediately. Anyone who's in their right mind would know that this is a scam. It is extremely hard for anyone to apply and receive a grants from our government. How is it possible that I'm randomly selected to receive a grant? On top of that, use it however I please? Oh please!

on 1/6/2015 i received a phone call saying i won a grant money of 95000 dollars. They also gave me an ID number an said I had to call to receive and that I had to buy a Walmart card to deposit the money . They said they were with the US government

On 1/6/2015 I received a call from Washington, DC. The lady said I was chosen to receive 9,500.00 Grant money to do with as I please if I call 1-202-657-5198, She sounded like she was Saudi Arabian or.so. I have yet to call for fear it is a scam or I will get billed huge amount on my phone.
Is this a scam?
