I wonder if this has anything to do with the OPM breach. That's about the time I started to get phone calls. 6 total calls and I've blocked every number. I've never gotten a payday loan or been late on any payments. Even checked my credit report just to make sure. Nothing.....
Have not received any emails or anything in the mail from them. They have not contacted my family, friends, or employers yet. But I can see from the other comments that's their next step.
I get phone calls from 202-697-4482 from DC, 207-494-5385 from ME, 405-225-3762 from OK, and 405-673-2900 from OK.
Every message goes as followed: "This message is intended for XYZ. I received a fax order regarding a complaint filed against you. I have been retained to serve you with documents to appear at your residence or place of employment. If you have any questions or concerns about the complaint or with to rectify the matter you can hit any key to contact our office directly or call us at the following number 405-225-3762. When calling use reference file number XYZ. You have been officially notified."
OR
"XYZ im contacting you from the Process of Determine Division (I think). I'm calling you to notify you that there will be two charges filled against you and your account. Looks like fraudulent activity has been attached to your Name and Social Security Number. XYZ I do need to make you aware of your legal rights to address the charges prior to them being filled against you. You need to do so before you receive your summons at your place of employment or home address. Once you are served your rights will be forfeited. Your case number is XYZ. The telephone number is 405-673-2900. You will need to speak to our legal department."
I filled a complaint with the State Attorney Generals Office and the FCC. I don't know what good that will do but at least they and we know its a scam.
They've been calling me as well with the same message. I finally got a live person who stated that it was a credit card civil case from what turns out to be a local car dealership. I told the lady (who is the same person on the recording when you call back) that I needed to make a couple of calls but didn't give her any information. I then called the BBB and then I called her back and told her that I had reported her to BBB and she hung up.
Always calling talking about being served at home or work
These same calls started with a different number 402-413-9500 , found it disconnected Wednesday. Now they are calling leaving the same message from a different area code, 202-697-4482 and no answer at that number either, just leave name, address and complaint number and they'll get back with you. If they have my name-number, why don't they have my address and mail me a copy of the complaint. I'm going to file a complaint of my own with the FCC and BBB as I believe it to be a scam too.
Had same thing happen. Has been happening for months. IS obviously a scam. They will not answer any questions asked.
