TG, got the same call today! They talked about not getting a 3rd party involved, and gave me "badge numbers".

The caller told me his name is James Anderson. He is a fraud for sure. The whole conversation was sketchy from the beginning. He knew my name but couldn't tell me any information about my tax return at all. I asked him what was my filing status for 2015, what was my AGI from the previous year, and how many dependents did I claim last year. He couldn't provide any answers because he doesn't work for the IRS. Beware! Please don't fall for this. The same foreign accent person called my mother yesterday as well. She fell for it and gave him her birth date. She made arrangements for him to call her back on the 1st to make a payment. I told her not to give anybody any more personal information without verifying first. Thank God she didn't give him her card number yesterday.

This number called me and my mom yesterday saying the exact same thing about tax fraud investigation. I know my returns are legit; therefore, I know this caller is a fraud. Please don't give them any of your information.
