I got the same IRS scam call today as above. Sadly my 83 year old mother has fallen for this scam twice this year for a total of $6K, $3K to the "IRS" and $3K to the "State of NJ Treasury". We only found out about it later.
I am almost always against the death penalty, but in this case, someone should kill these scum. Stealing the retirements savings seniors need to live on is beyond criminal.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. They wouldn't answer the phone when called back. Seems stupid to have a scam operation going and then not answer the phone. Idiots!

Received a message from Officer Bill Johnson (a woman with terrible awful broken English)/Tax Fraud Unit and I returned the call and she said I was sent a bill for $2150 in January from the IRS and if I didn't give a credit card number to pay the amount due that the City of Edgewater police department were on stand by to come to my home and arrest me. I spoke to the police and they said this is the current scam going around and to ignore it.

I'm the one who said they put a block on my number that THEY called, asking me to call back. I called from another number, they answered the phone "IRS", they asked me to give the number they called from (so they could say our name by checking with an online reverse look-up. Then they said that my husband has a warrant for tax evasion (bah ha ha!) and owed $1950 for the last 5 years of miscalculations. I told them they needed to send something in writing in the mail and they said that they would just send the police to arrest him instead; they were unable to provide his social security # (or mine as it is on the same tax filings), I didn't even ask his name, but IRS folks always identify themselves. Yeah, Officer Steven Hallwood my _ss! I also asked them if they knew who we filed the taxes thru (H&R Block) and they couldn't tell me that either.

It was hard to understand (foreign accent) the recording from this number 202-738-4429, but it seemed to imply that there was a threat of legal action. I tried calling back several times and got a pick up/hang up with no voice on the other end, and also several busy signals. I believe that, by calling back several times in a row, they put a block on my incoming #.

Yup. Scammer.

this place is a total scam when told they are TAX CRIME UNIT, I told the guy no you are not with IRS and he stated why did you call back to suck my d**k, horrible human being.

I received a call and a message from 202-738-4429 stating I had a warrant for my arrest and they needed me to get money to clear it up asap., I called the City of Mesa Police department today July 2, 2015 at 9:20am, spoke to officer Alicia Laredo, told me it was a scam, not to worry.
