this is scam!!!
Received a call on my answering machine. They didn't identify who they were calling from. The message said that it was a time sensitive legal matter regarding an IRS lawsuit and to return the call to 202-813-0749. Needless to say, I am not calling them back. Oddly enough on my last night on my local news, they alerted that there were scam calls claiming to be from the IRS.
Yes, I got a voice mail saying to call them back. That "a lawsuit that is getting filed on your name". They said "an issue that is time sensitive".
Caller: "Internal Revenue Service"
I received a call this morning about them filing a lawsuit on me because of tax fraud and that I owe over $2k and said that if I get sued then I will have to pay over $7k. I was freaking out bu then I called up a cousin of mine that does taxes and he said that IRS communicates via mail never through phone calls. Omg I almost paid that person money. Thank god I didn't.
They just called me back and the name this so called office is using is Officer William Smith. He said that if I do not call him back within half an hour that my account will be on negative and they will proceed with the lawsuit. He also called me from another number which is used by the IRS as well. It's amazing what hackers can do nowadays.
Yes scam they call me with the same thing that I was audit and I owe $1,900 and to make a money gram to someone. I just hung up sounding to crazy
