not sure if they changed their number a little, but the calls I received were from 2028440137—so very similar! They said they were from the FDA and this household had won $5.9 million in the Sweepstakes. When I asked for some kind of proof, or if they'd contacted my husband via email (the only way he'd have entered the sweepstakes) they said they'd mailed by letter but had not got a reply. They started off saying they had a check for us, then when I was calling him out as a scammer he said we were under investigation because we'd not replied. Why would the FDA be investigating that? lol. He sounded as if he were in a car park, lots of noise going on that didn't sound like any office I've ever worked in. One of the phone checks I did showed the number belonged to an auction place in Biloxi that used to be a Winn-Dixie.
They left a message telling me I can reduce my energy bills and save up to $1000. The name on the caller id was Public Bulliten. They called at 7:30pm
I received a call from this number and a voicemail was left. He stated that he was Officer John Anderson from the Internal Revenue Service. He says to not disregard the call. Scam! I have been contacted by the IRS before and they will send you a letter or two or three!
Yes, they called me and said I cheated on my taxes since 2010 and have a arrest warrant out on me.
