Left vm to call back. Threaten jail time that taxes were filed wrong

I received a phone message that said:

"Final notice from the IRS. The nature and the purpose of this call is to inform you that we have received legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against you. So, before this matter goes to the federal claims courthouse or before you get arrested, please call immediately on our department number: (202) 899-9063. Make sure you call us as soon as possible."

Yes, this seems fake. For one thing, I had no other notices, so it can't be the "final" notice. When I called the number back, it went to a Verizon message saying that the wireless caller was not available.

This call came one day after I contacted Zambia / Zimbabwe / Swaziland embassies in Washington DC for some other reason (same 202 area code)
Bunch of fools with Indian accent - may be from Johannesburg?? Coincidence? I think not!!! Big scam!!

I'm a tax professional, I myself got a call today, same scenario same contact- Steve Parker. As a reminder to all tax payers, the IRS will never call you initially, they will send you letters, after the contact then they'll call you if more info needed. Please do not respond or give out your info to anyone, the IRS already have your info. Again, IRS will never call you initially, only via mail.

This was a call on cell phone saying they were "Steve Parker from the IRS" and that I needed to call back right away before my IRS case went to court. SCAM!

Didn't answer - no message left

I just got a call from this number - claimed that a warrant was issued for my arrest for 2012 tax errors. I had supposedly paid less than owed. I kept insisting he verify what I was accused of filing wrong, and when I was notified, he claimed an officer had tried to serve papers Nov 2015 and Jan 2016, but I was not there. He refused to give address I was supposedly to be served these papers, stating it was confidential. I asked what information they needed to make sure I would be here to receive the documents and a time. At that point he told me an officer was on the way to arrect me withing 40 minutes!!! WTF Oh, and his accent was so horrific I asked him to slow down, and I was informed he was the only english speaker available!

Scammers. Foreign dude on the line. I gave him a completely fake name and he told me I owed money. I called him out on his lies and he paused and told me I was a "fat motherfucker."

Yes. Buncha scammers. I called them on their lies and the dude literally called me a "fat motherfucker."

Tax/IRS scam caller. Left a voicemail.

I was also called by this number today and it was an automated service telling me to call the same exact number that was dialing me. When I called back all I can hear is a slue of Indian people talking over each other. He then asked me what did I file for 2014 and I told him that if he was a part of the IRS he would know this information. He then said do you have a lawyer and I said yes and he is going to sue you and my called ended,

I was called from this number as well today and she gave her name as April Warner and a employee id # said that I have a warrant for my arrest for tax fraud and I need to pay 2850.00 right now or I will go to jail for 6 months, asked what address they sent a treasury dept person to give me my notice they told me that was personal information they could not give I told them to contact my lawyer gave them his name , she didn't want to hear anything I was saying, this suppose to have happened in 2012 and I asked for her supervisor and a guy got on phone which none could speak English well , said he was a detective told him to send police I need a vacation

told me that my 2010 taxes had errors and I need a lawyer I told him I was a criminal lawyer and he said the he was sending the cops (yes the cops) to arrest me

I got a call from this number as well. They first left a message telling me i need a lawyer because a claim was made on me by the IRS. The message was a automated robot voice. When I called the person did not sound like english was their first language at all. I had a hard time understanding the person. Could'd tell if male or female. Sounded indian or muslim telling me that legal representative who handles my case couldn't come to the phone that they were assigned to my case. What gave them away was they said the numbers I filed for my taxes in 2014 didn't match their numbers and their is a warrant out for me. I knew right there it was a scam. The IRS doesn't call you. They send letters and you call them plus before any legal matter takes place they give warnings and if a call did happen they would be from the states.
