the gentleman left a robocall voicemail, I returned the phone call and when the recipient pick up the phone, they answered," IRS ", I asked them what agency this was and they responded by asking me my phone number. I gave him my phone number and they pulled up my name and address. They stated I owed over $4800 worth of back taxes including attorney fees and if I didn't have an attorney, I needed to pay to sum right away. What I asked him that I wanted to seek further information on the matter, the gentleman responded by saying, " if you do not respond immediately I will have you arrested within 45 minutes from this phone call, do you want to go to jail? " I was shocked by that response. I adviced him I was recording the phone call and ask him to verify the information. he then stated, "you already have the information. then he hung up the phone. I've attempted to call the same number back over 20 times in the past several days, but the line is continuously busy. The IRS will never contact you by phone.

I received the same call whose name is Jame Cooper from 206-201-2707. He told me this is the final notice and threatened to confiscate my bank account, passport, driver lincence because I intentionally misfiled income tax for the period 2012 to 2014 and asked $1,400. I will be arrested if I do not pay now with my credit card.

JJ: I got the same call from this number 206-201-2707 (James Cooper) with Indian accent. I don't mean to offend good Indians. I have great honest Indian friends. This guy is happening sound like that. He asked for $1,400 from intentionally misfiled tax for the period from 2012 to 2014? He wants the money ASAP or I will be arrested and IRS will take all money from my account, take my driver lincence, file a lawsuit against me...I asked for address to send payment in. He refused to give the address. I told him my attorny will call him, and he hung up...This number 607-271-9593 also called and left the same msg...

I just heard this on my messages too (exact script as Boo and A. O-B listed)... I was really scared until I realized how fake it sounded. Glad people are commenting since it obviously is a scam.

I rec'd this same call...woman's voice telling me to call it. This is the transcribed message (periods indicate pauses): "Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is official(ly) and final notice from IRS. Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number: 206-201-2707. I repeat, the number is 206-201-2707. Thank you." The more I listen to it the weirder it sounds, as if someone put together the recorded words separately to sound like a message. I tried to call the number a couple times, but just got beeping, like the number was unavailable". .................... i called back and was told by recording thy person I'm trying to reach is not avaiable.

I just got a call from that number right now. The number I got a call from had the area code (512) 451-1556, which is the Austin, TX area code (I stay in TX). I answered thinking it was someone I may know from the Central Texas area, but I got a voicemail type message from a woman saying the IRS filed a lawsuit against me and if I wanted to know what for to call (206) 201-2707. I DIDN'T call that number, would have been a waste of my time. I find it interesting so many people have been commenting on this page that they received a similar call today. It seems these people are calling with nation wide numbers, or are operating nation wide, and possibly decided May 7th was a "great" day to call everyone and allege to be the IRS. I was told in the past though that the IRS would never make a phone call filing complaints or checking claims, so I was certain it was a scam.

I also got called. I don't see this number in my missed calls record on my phone, but I got a voice mail of a recorded woman's voice telling me to call it. This is the transcribed message (periods indicate pauses):

"Hello. We have been trying to reach you. This call is official(ly) and final notice from IRS. Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number: 206-201-2707. The more I listen to it the weirder it sounds, as if someone put together the recorded words separately to sound like a message. I tried to call the number a couple times, but just got beeping, like the number was unavailable.

Thank God I googled the number and found this, I was so scared!!! Interesting, we were all called on the same day... Thank you all!

I just got a call from a guy named James Jose, badge number: 999W327 on a , "recorded line" with the IRS. He said the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me for 3 violations, Bank Secrecy, etc...Very heavy accent and when I asked to speak with someone who was easier to understand, he refused. I then told him that I was also monitoring the call because I knew that it was fraudulent and he quickly hung up; now the line is busy every time I call back. I was told that I owed 850.00 from 2011 and 2012 and that they had issued a warrant for my arrest. I kept him on the line as long as possible and offered my, "credit card", information as payment, (obviously not really going to give it to him), and he told me that I needed to go to the local grocery store or pharmacy and get a green dot pre-paid VISA and call them back with that information. I just laughed and told him that I was reporting him and the numbers to the IRS, CBI and FBI. I have been in banking for several years... I feel awful for the people who don't know better. The number that initially called me left a recorded voicemail stating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me, that number was 818-890-3853. They left a return call number of 206-201-2707.

Got a call from 206-201-2707. Guy with Asian origin accent (more likely India) impersonating to be James. He told me you have committed fraud with IRS. Your licence, Visa, passport everything will be confiscated and you will be arrested soon.
When I started drilling him he used abusing word "Indian Hindi language".
seriously annoying....
