We received an unsolicited call from an organization calling itself The Police Officers Support Alliance wanting donations. My husband agreed to give $35.00 but refused to give them his credit card number and told them he would pay by personal check. Some days later we received an invoice from this organization for $35.00. After doing some research, I found some interesting things about this organization, including the funds are solicited for an Political Action Committee call For a Better America that supposedly gives funds to federal candidates that support the police. I checked a website called OpenSecrets.org and found out the For a Better America has never contributed any money to any political candidate. Beware of this scam. Needless to say, we will not be sending any money to them. I will also report them to Washington State Attorney General.
