I just got the same call. I actually work for the US Government and have never heard of anything like this. I wasn't going to fall for such an obvious scam

I had the same convo with these guys and as soon I defended myself I got hung up on. They tried saying "your the one who called me" I was like yes I called and to prove they were scammers. And he just hung up on me..lol.... They thought I would fall for it.

I received the same call, but I didn't call them back. I was sure they will ask for money upfront. I also got a code VB162. Nobody gives money for free... IT IS A SCAM!

Red Flag right away....first an unavailable caller id, second a toll free number that starts with 206? Third asking for banking info?? Are there really people who still fall for this? Really?

I first received a call from an unknown number saying i had been selected for a US Grant of $7849.00. All i had to do was call this number and give them my approval code of DA163. Anyone care to guess what i think the DA part stands for? Anyways, I called the number, gave him the approval code and he said i could have the funds transferred electronically in 30 minutes. I informed him i wasnt interested in giving out my banking information and i i could receive a check. Sure, no problem. First I would have to pay an up front processing fee of 200 and something dollars. I asked if the fee would apply to the electronic transfer as well and he said yes it would. I thanked him for his time and for the offer but told him i wasnt interested. He hung up on me without so much as a goodbye. How rude! LOL! These people are so much fun to screw around with. Really made my day, my wife thinks I'm warped!
