The guy had an accent so strong I could hardly understand him. I asked him to take my number off the list and he argued with me. He asked me if I was stupid or what. He wanted to know why I "no need it". He said he had to have a reason before he could take my name off of the list.

Posing as federal agents, false credentials. Phishing scam and a potentially risky one.

I just got a call from some guy claiming to be calling me on behalf of the federal government grant dept. He goes on to tell me that I was selected to receive $7,000 and I had three choices to go get it. first was money gram at walmart, second was to give my personal bank info and have it wired into my account and third was to have the money deposited on to a reloadable card. I asked him you can't send a check? and he replied no. I laughed and hung up. none of my info was shared.

Some body called me from this num said u r eligible to get 7000 $grants from federal grant dept united statesi said tell me how to get grant then she off the phone

This number called me and said they are from the Federal Government Grant Department. She had an Asian accent, sounded Pilipino, that I could barely understand. I asked her to repeat things several times. She said I was randomly selected to receive $7,000 and one of the choices was I could get it in cash from Walgreen's, CVS, etc. I didn't give her any information. The first question she asked was my name as it is on my driver's license. I didn't even tell her that. She gave me the option of her calling me back tomorrow around the same time. When I got off the phone I researched this and found it most likely to be a fraud. We shall see if she calls me back tomorrow. 7pm ish EST, 12/16/14.
