Caller claimed to be an agent from the Internal Revenue Service, but is, in fact, a SCAM artist. Caller attempted many times to get money sent to him. Caller claimed that the property was about to be seized for unpaid Internal Revenue Service taxes unless money was paid to him immediately. Caller threatened to also have the power to incarcerate those who do not pay. Caller claimed to have the power to garnish wages for unpaid federal taxers owed. Caller tried many variations of threatening financial scenarios to get money. Caller tried these threats multiple times on multiple days.
Contacted TIGTA to report the call. Used their “IRS Impersonation Scam Reporting” web page. Also called 800-366-4484 to report this Internal Revenue Service impersonation scam..
Reported it to the Federal Trade Commission. Used the “FTC Complaint Assistant” on FTC.gov and added "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes.
I just tried to call them a third time today and got a recording from Verizon Wireless saying that number isn't in service. I bet it's in service with other people they are robbing.
They called my 96 year old father with some garbled voicemail that had too heavy an accent for him to understand. I called them back twice. Once a man, next time a woman answered with terrible accents. Both said they were the IRS. LOL! The IRS has people who can hardly speak English working the phones!
Isn't there some place to report these robbers?
