I have been receiving calls all week long from aggressive sales reps saying they are from WELLS FARGO. They are using high pressure sales tactics to sell me a new MERCHANT CREDIT CARD PROCESSING MACHINE UNDER Wells Fargo BANK'S NAME !!!!

The phone number on my business caller ID comes up as: ASIA PACIFIC
phone # 1-206-535-2631. I did call the number back, and got an answering service, but it was not a bank.

I assume it was telemarketing making sure it's a working # because all i got was "hello" after i said hello then i answered with "yes" and was hung up on! So annoying.

Asian sounding person Claims to be from Ohio Edison and wants to give me a 30 % discount on my bill. He gives me a "bogus" ohio edison employee number. I tell him he doesnt spund very legitimate and he hangs up on me.

Claiming to be from "Microsoft" and my computer is sending error messages - they offer to tap in and fix - I hung up.
To date, the FTC has sued hundreds of companies and individuals who were responsible for placing unwanted calls, and has obtained over a billion dollars in judgments against violators.

In addition, the FTC is leading several initiatives to develop a technology-based solution. The FTC has sponsored a series of robocall contests challenging the tech savvy public to design tools that block robocalls and help investigators track down and stop robocallers. The FTC also is encouraging industry efforts to combat caller ID spoofing.
