I recieved a call from a Ben Davis IRS senior and was to that I was filed charges on cause my income tax from 2007-2012 has some inconsisties and to resolve the matter I must pay 4,890 when I asked if this was a scam he got real upset and told me I would be arrested and all of my credit cards debit cards bank accounts and property would be taken by IRS for the next five years he wanted to stay on the phone with me but did not want me to contact a third party when I advised him I was going to contact my local IRS Office he hung up and told me an officer would be knocking at my door he also stated I was going to get fired from my job if I didn't comply.
caller with heavy middle eastern accent claimed he was with the IRS in Washington DC. Claimed there were 3 inconsistencies with my tax return.
When pressed about why his phone number popped up as a Washington area code, he replied, yes, Washington DC. To which I replied no, state of Washington.
He told me I had 2 options to resolve this matter. 1. talk to his superior or 2. pay amount owed. Since I had no clue what the caller was talking about, I opted for option 1.
To talk to his superior, I was told to call (206) 801-1434 (yep, same number) and talk to Van Davis. When I called back, another man with a lighter middle eastern accent answered immediately and just said IRS.
By now there's so many red flags, that I just wanted to mess with them, so I asked them what company they are really from. They responded asking why I don't believe they are the IRS, so I told them internet research. Their response was "Oh! so the internet is god?" and I said "in this case, yes it is. Have fun trying to scam someone else." Hung up and reported to the real IRS.
I just got the very same call. Who do I report it to ?
Heavy Indian accent claiming. To be from the "offices of Steve Johnson of the irs" stating that there were inconsistencies in my tax return and asking if I knew anything about it. Very clear red flags so I asked why I hadn't received a letter from the irs. The call eventually ended with the caller swearing and throwing out insults and then abruptly hanging up.
Obvious scam. Note the number, hang up ND file reports immediately.
