I got the very same call. The guy said I still owe $1200.00 on my taxes from 2009. He tried to make me pay it or part of it over the phone or I would be arrested within 24 hours and go to court. I told him to send me all the information in writing. He finally said for me to get a lawyer and then hung up on me. My first clue something wasn't right is he couldn't hardly speak English... Total SCAM. Bad thing is, many would be scared into paying something.

.. I wanted to add this is the second such call I have received, but the other one was about a month ago from an Oklahoma area code and this one is from Seattle.

Got a call from 206.823.3352 today. The caller made two attempts and left a voicemail, which sounded like a computer generated voice that was half way through saying that if I didn't call back and speak to a federal agent I would have to appear in front of a judge and that this was the final attempt to contact me.

Caller: Unknown but I think claiming to be IRS

Yes, same audio as the other comments. I did not call back sounded too much like some form of scam

I also received a message saying that it was a second attempt to contact me from a federal magistrate or something of the sort. I called the number back and a person answered with a thick accent and stated that it was the IRS. I asked for their name and i.d. number and the person became flustered and pretended not to understand me.

Called from this number and said that it was the IRS and ignoring it would be a federal offense. I have no outstanding debts with the IRS.

IRS scam when I said I had no issues with the IRS they reverted to a federal grand jury.
