Definitely a scam. All over the local news (Fargo ND). Just received a phone call. Laughed at them. Told them I'd have cookies available for the officers that were on their way.

They call me as well! They claimed I pwes and exact amount of $5836.35 and that the police would be at my door in an hour. There names were Brian cooper and Kevin smith.

I just got the same exact phone call. Not only that, but when I hung up on them when she tried to transfer me to her supervisor, they called me back! TWICE. I told him I didn't believe him and he said fine, we will go ahead with the law suit. I said GO FOR IT! and hung up!!

They left a message and said the IRS was filing a law suit against us. I have actually dealt with the IRS before concerning a mistake on our tax return. They DO NOT leave messages like this.

A message was on our answering machine to call this number. 1-206-855-5835. Caller said he was from the IRS and that there was a law suit being filed against us for a problem with our 2008 thru 2013 income tax forms. What started out as 100 and some dollars is now up to $4000. He called himself Edward Burns and we could talk to his supervisor about what we could do about paying it.
