This is exactly the call we received. My wife was concerned but I thought it strange the IRS would simply contact by phone and threaten a lawsuit. I know that's not the way the IRS operates. If they think you owe them money they will get in touch with you by multiple means and will have you come in for an audit. They don't simply call and ask you call them back. So instead of calling them, I decided to call the IRS. Then it occurred to me that I could simply Google the number to see if, at least, it was in the D.C. area, which is where I live. I don't need to check this out any further. It's bogus. They're not getting my money. I work too hard to make what I got -- how about you?
Revenue service. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on my department number 206-905-9781. I repeat 206-905-9781. Thank you.
This the message I receive daily. They called from another number too, 360-799-3787
