Claim to be Amazon customer service, but are actually scammers

I just received a call this morning. The caller identified himself as being from the Amazon Customer Service Business department. He was calling to get me to sign up for a business account. I told him I didn't have a business account and he said it didn't matter and that business accounts receive deeper discounts on the website. He knew my "amazon smile" organization of choice and said I didn't have to give him any personal information and that I just needed to be in front of my computer to make the switch. I didn't open my computer so I don't know if this is a scam or not.

This is a legitimate Amazon customer service number. So is 206-922-0880. After I requested a call back after clicking on a request link on the Amazon website, it was from this number.

“This number is legit! I was on the Amazon.com website and requested a call back. They never called. I realized that I had blocked this number on my iPhone. I found three messages from Amazon customer service in my Blocked Voicemails folder.

I got a call from this number but only answer identified/known calls; no message was left. After reading the info on this site, I'm blocking the number!

Free cruise - This is the 6th time they have called in the last week and second time today. Each time they call they use a different number but all are from the 206 area code. I have already filed three online complaints thru this website. Please direct this telemarketer to stop calling me.

That is Amazon.com support number for when you ask them to call you vie their webpage.
