This is the second time in the past two months I have been contacted by someone who said I owed money or would be arrested. The first time was on November 19th by a David Cooper who stated the he was with a "law firm at the superior courthouse" and that I had broken three laws punishable by prison and that his firm had zero tolerance and would prosecute to the fullest for electronic fraud, check fraud, and bank violation through my payday loans I owed a total of $3,4848.87 and if "they" were not paid $645.37 that evening I would be arrested at my place of employment on Monday. It was very alarming as they had my bank name, place of employment and employer address, vendor and the IP address. I contacted the vendor directly and had been told that it was fraud and contacted David Cooper during my lunch hour explaining that as a legal representative he must surely be aware that it is against the law to contact an employee at work, that the false statements he had presented were punishable by prison and a $2,000 fine per incident and, after he hung up on me, I repeatedly called him back and told him this was what harassment felt like. At that point he threatened me saying he would call me “10,000 times day”. David's # is 323-704-4005.

These people need to be stopped. I got my first phone call at 8:00 am and was just sick about it until I started doing some research. Their game is to terrorize you with threats and imprisonment.

I received a call last Wednesday from Kevin Foster on my cell and at my job. He said I had not repaid a payday advance. The first time he called I just listened. When I failed to agree to send him money he said someone would be at my job and home to arrest me, and that I would have to pay $6000 at the courthouse or serve jail time. He called back today, and I told him that I had filed a report with the Texas Attorney General's Office and the Federal Trade Commission. It didn't seem to bother him. He said that if I didn't give him my credit or debit card information right then I could expect to be in custody tomorrow. I guess I will just wait and see what happens.

Ok, I was starting to get worried here. This Jim Santana guy has been calling me at work for the past 2 weeks telling my boss that I am going to be arrested if I don't show up to court on the 16th of Nov. I was thinking WTF? I was trying to think of all the things that I could have possibly done lol and couldn't think of one thing. While I am relieved that this is a prank, this man has gotten me wrote up and my company has called the local authorities asking if I had any warrant out for my arrest or any trials pending. I was suspended for 2 days WITHOUT pay and humiliated in front of my co-workers. Anyway, I am filing a report as we speak with my local news station and letting them know what is going on.

New info, we have no lawsuit unfortunately. This is a fake company from Afghanistan most likely trying to trick Americans into funding terrorism. It was even on Inside Edition ( http://www.insideedition.com/news/5343/inside-edition-investigates-telephone-terrorists.aspx ) Well in my opinion these people should be put in an oven and burned at 500 degrees fro 2 days and lightly seasoned with poison gas. Ok a bit much? Yeah I know but its despicable that they can terrorize us from the comfort of their own country. The saddest part of this is some people were dumb enough to actually give these people their banking info. Cmon guys, thats ridiculous. Well I guess they deserved to get the money taken if they were that ignorant. Well im done ranting for now. Good night.

I just wanted to add that most cell phones have a call recording feature so if any of you plan on filing a class action with me then please from now on have your calls recorded if u haven't already. Please note that you must tell them that you are recording the call in order for us to bring it as evidence. You also may call them and im sure they will do many violations on their own, dont be rude just let them talk their lies and record. Also make yourselves aware of your rights and do some light reading on the FDCPA. I will check back daily and let everyone know how we are to proceed when we have enough parties but for now just post so I can get a count of those interested.

I am a former debt collector and just received a call from this #. I want to put all of you at ease and explain what I think is happening here. This company is an outsource, probably from the middle east somewhere judging by their accents. A lot of collections and telemarketing companys do this to save money since employees are paid much less in third world countrys. First off they violated the F.D.C.P.A (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) numerous times just in the message they left me and Im sure the messages they left all of you. It is absolutely preposterous, threatening to arrest you for not paying a loan you may or may not have taken out. Ill have you all know regardless of which state you live in you CAN NOT go to jail for not paying back a loan. The worst they can do is hit your credit or try to garnish your wages. Each violation of th FDCPA is punishable by a hefty fine (I believe starting at $5000 per violation). Also the consumer may file a personal suit against them. These are the violations they gave to me. 1)They did not state the Mini Miranda which is required at the beginning of each call 2) It is illegal to use false names, the woman gave me the name Stacy Willson. Now, im sorry to profile but theres no way in hell her name was Stacy Willson, not with that heavy accent. She might as well have said Jane Doe, would've been just as convincing 3) It is illegal to threaten anyone with jail time, I mean seriously give me a break 4) It is illegal to disclose information to a third party, they left personal information in the message. OK so, I will be looking into a class action lawsuit against this company, I dont know if theres any stipulations since they are not operating out of U.S.A. In any case I can seek out whomever hired them to collect on these accounts and hold them responsible. I need a count of how many of you would participate to see if we have enough to move forward. Please post here. Know your rights. Knowledge is power.

This is a call from someone calling himself "Jimmy Santana" stating that a lawsuit has been filed against me and that they will be arresting me for theft by deception and fraud and something else. When I called back, I got a woman who went through this long spiel about how I had applied for a check advance online (which was true) and how I never repaid it. In fact, I filled out an application, was given the advance without my knowledge and then found out what the terms were. The fees were astronomical! I called the company to complain about the fees, they reversed the check award and that should have been the end of it. If I could find that company's information, I would call them to complain. AVOID THESE PEOPLE SCAM!!!

TheI received a phone call today from a gentleman with a heavy Indian accent also. He calls repeatedly. This time however, he told me that I owed an outstanding amount of money....for what I do not know...and he told me that the police dept. was waiting and would be at my place of employment within one hour to arrest me and take me to jail...For what I don't know.
This is a SCAM. I tried to call back at the number of my caller ID, but did not get through to him. He claims his name was Justin Floyd.
Anyone else get these threatening phone calls??

I recieved 6 phone calls from the number 559-823-5337 saying that it was Paralegal Jack Dawson and to call him on his direct line concerning a loan that I had got and never paid back. I never got a loan and told him I had no idea what he was talking about and he got very angry and told me to listen to him. He knew my name, what county in the state I live in, the last 4 numbers of my ssn and what bank I use. He became very angry when I hung up on him and called back several times and left a threatening message. I am changing my account info as I type this.

I just received a call fron this same man, he told me everything that has been posted to the other sites. He said his name was Chris Williamson but had a heavy indian accent. I also told him to do what he had to do and he said ok and hung up, after reading these other comments I then placed several calls back to the number and it said that it was no longer in service or it would ring and hand up. The number was (209)729-3813.

This person called my husband's emloyer asking for me. The secretary was suspisious and wrote down the name the guy gave- James Freeman, and where he said he was calling from "Law Group of California" and then took the number from the caller ID. My husband tried calling but nobody ever answered. I called and the man that answered had a very bad accent, hard to understand his English, bad grammar etc. He said Uh yes, this is a law office in california. We have opened a suit against you for a loan you took from US Cash and never repaid. I said I didn't know any US Cash place and hadn't ever taken a loan from one. He said "The last 4 digits of your ss# are xxxx right? I said well, yes. He said Ok then we are suing you.You took this loan out and you'll just have to prove in court that you didn't. I said I hadn't taken any loans out and asked for a location the loan was taken from, an amount, and date. He refused to give any information, just hung up on me. I tried to call him back 3 times and just got the sound like someone picked up the phone and then hung it up w/o answering.

We should file a report with the FBI and then send the information to the National News, it is important we take this seriously we do not know what they are after because I kind of play their game for a bit saying: Ok, then I need to pay you but he said he needed more information and other things, so they want money or not?- well pretty strange because they do not ask for, maybe they are trying to do something else. Be careful wit these people they are very dangerous.

I got the same call as you guys, Heavy accented Indian man claiming to be a James Freeman stating I received a loan from a US Cash advance company and they were suing me and I could be arrested if I didn't comply with answering his questions. I didn't answer anything he asked and he got fustrated and said I will go to jail if I don't comply. He also said he was going to call my employer which is a joke since I've been on SSD since 2006. He advised me to get a lawyer and I told him I didn't need one since I never received any moneys he claimed I did. He said then we will take you to court and I told him go ahead I'll bring my bank statements for the past 10 years to prove no such money was deposited into my account, he hung up after I said that.

They won't leave me alone. They will call 24/7 and already reported the number to 911, a police officer come and I filed a report. UNFORTUNATELLY (A BIG ONE) - is a magic jack and cannot be done much but call the phone company and file a report so they can suspend the number then they will get a new magic jack and a new phone number. They would call from a phone number from New Jersey first then WA and now California. I called them back and told them bunch of ignorant people. Not much you can tell them because they hung up as soon as they realized you caught them.
