What are "Government Scams"?

Robocalls that pose to be calls from a legitimate government agency are referred to as "government scams". There are many different forms of these government scams, but the most common is an IRS scam call. This is where a scammer calls you and tells you that you haven’t paid your taxes and there is a warrant out for your arrest. During this call, they will ask you for your social security number, bank account information, home address, and much more. These calls can be very convincing, as they already know your name and possibly know where you work, but they should not be trusted. There are other government scams such as Social Security Administration calls, medicare calls, and police department calls. All of these scam calls will consist of the caller asking for your information and threaten that you will face consequences if you do not give them what they want. These types of calls are illegal, and they should be reported to the police immediately. The best way to avoid becoming a victim to these callers is by hanging up and calling the agency the caller claimed to be apart of. Simply end the call, and call the number of the real agency to see if they truly are needing your information.

They have called me 20+ times. I finally called the Chase # on the back of my credit card and Chase confirmed that it is a fraudulent number NOT associated with Chase in any way.

I called the number back on a different phone-not registered to an individual, and a Brian, Id#E340252 said it was from Chase Credit Card Services and asked for my account #. I said that I was calling to see why they had called, since I didn't have a Chase Card. He faltered and said he could trace my number to see why they were calling, and I said no, I was just curious to see if anybody answered since this the number he called from was reported as a scam. He didn't have anything to say to that.

Asks for last 4 digits of your acct number (I didn't give). Once connected to an operator, they give you their name and ID number. Then again ask for the Chase acct number or telephone number that they called you from. You can tell their fishing for info. Plus they never leave a VM. Just ignore this number or keep it blocked.

This is not a Chase number. This is just scammers masquerading as Chase Card Services. I have called Chase Card Fraud Services to confirm this number and they've said that this is not a recognized Chase number and to ignore any calls that come from this number. If an agent is to call your home they must notate it in your account file, and when I called to check, neither attempts were notated in my account.

If you get a call from 1-210-520-6400 or 1-800-313-4150 please block them immediately. They are scamming for your information!
