Somebody from the number 210-634-3909 keeps calling me looking for Richard....they tell me if i am not him, to hang up....so i do, but they keep calling back. I have talked to someone at this company and told them i am not him....they claim they will take me off the calling list, but obviously have not....
Claims to be Transamerica Consumer Services. They called looking for my father. I Googled Transamerica to see if it is real, which it is, and found a post by the company warning consumers that their company name and logo have used in multiple scams. They have information on the website to report the numbers the scammers are using (here is the link: https://www.transamerica.com/individual/fraud-alert/).
Someone called me about a week ago asking to speak to my father about a claim they had on file. The first few times I did not pick up the phone since I did not recognize the number, but I did forward the information left in the voicemail message to my father, (855-904-7781 for Customer Service) just to be safe. Since then, the same number has called several times. It got so bad that I finally blocked the number. But today I was contacted by the same company again, this time from a new number (210-528-1419). I recorded the conversation. A woman asked if I was my father, to which I said I was not and asked what the call was in regards to. She said she needed to get in touch with my father over a claim that was being brought against him and asked if I knew how to get in touch with him. I said that if they really wanted him to respond they would need to send him the information in writing. I then asked her to recite to me what information of my father's they had on file (phone number, address, etc.,), and then I would tell them if the information they had was correct or not. She refused to do so. After going through this dance for a while, she finally hung up on me. Both numbers are now being blocked on my phone, but I can still see in Call History if/when they try to reach me. Last Friday they called twice in one minute, then almost exactly an hour later. Maybe after yesterday they have had enough, who knows. I hope this information is helpful.
