Same story- jerk said he had money for college and was affiliated with the "US Department of Grants."
I'm all, huh, never heard of the US Dept. of Grants. Maybe you could tell me which branch of government they work for.
He responds, well how am I supposed to know that?
Well, if you work for the gvt. you'd know.
I say, well, maybe you can provide me with a website that has more information.
He says it isn't up yet but it will be whatever.com.
I'm all, odd, because government websites usually end in .gov.
He goes, I don't know why that is. How would I know?
Well, if you work for the gvt. you'd know.

This guy is a totally scammer. Ignore the hell out of him.

Got a call today from an Indian gentleman with a very thick accent. He knew my name and told me my computer was having problems and he could help. Played with him for 10 minutes or so. He was very patient. I think he got wise when I told him my computer was a Commodore 64. Tried to get me to go to www.support.me, a website owned by a legit company called Logmein. He can use that site to access your computer if you enter a six digit code he will provide. Obviously, you shouldn't enter the code, but if you get as far as getting him to give you the code, you can report it to the folks at Logmein (866-478-1805, though you might be on hold for a while) and they can trace it to his IP and shut it down. Of course, he'll find another scam, but that's the Eternal Battle!

Caller wants me to access my computer to download error cleaning software. Says they are aware of multiple errors on my computer. I have repeatedly told them not to contact me. They use various phone numbers from various locations

Caller with an east Indian or pakastanian accent asks for someone who is not here. I blew them off with the promise on legal action. This is the fifth call from this San Antonio number this month.

They said my windows computer had been hacked and they would help me with this problem (PROVIDE SERVICE). They had called several times in 2011 before this reported incident. I did not believe them. In 2011 they asked for personal info. Each call I ask to speak to supervisor and to be taken off call list. Some calls have no caller ID, but it is same pitch. In recent calls I said I would inform FCC of their failure to stop calling as requested. In most recent call when I spoke to them, they said they would stop calling if I paid $100.

This number has been calling my cell number two to 3 times daily. At first I didn't answer , but decided to finally. No nothing. No recorded message, etc. just blank. I tried calling the number back and got a message saying the call could not be completed as dialed. this is a real pain in the back side.

I was driving to work when another call came in from this number, I knew it was a scam number but didn't have anything better to do so I answered. "Do you know your computer is sending error messages to our windows server?"
"Oh, really."
"Yes, do you know what they are."
"No, I don't. They sound bad."
"Yes, are you at your computer now?"
"Yes."
"Can you open the start menu?"
"Yes."
"Right click on COMPUTER"
At which point I'd had enough and said, "Look a$$hole, I know what your doing." and hung up.

Indian accent as well -

They told me they were calling in regards to a lawsuit filed against me. Then stated they were a police officer. Many times they have called and when they said that i asked for a badge number etc and theyd hang up now when they call they have a suppose badge number. they kept cussing and threating that they were going to "screw me" if i didnt give them the information they wanted.

i filed a complain with the FBI and im about the file a complain with the police.

also when i tried to call back it said the number was not in service...

these people are pathetic

I got a call from these guys once about a month ago and then just today May 6th 2011, The guy on the phone had an indian accent, They told me they were a collection agency trying to get money from me that was sent to my bank account, i look at my account and no money had ever been deposited, they then told me if i didn't pay back the money i would be sued. I then told them to go ahead and file the lawsuit and that i would see them in court. So today they called and asked if i wanted to settle out of court with a payment to them. Of course i said no and told them to file the court papers.. The next line from the guy was ok we are filing the papers to day, blah blah your social security # will be blocked by the governement,, blah blah.. your bank "my bank" and account # will be placed on hold.. some more hard to understand stuff.. and that i will need to appear in court Monday morning.. .. Now seeing as they're filing today,, it takes a while for the papers to get to court.. be given a court date and then sent to me so i may contest or appear... these guys are just a bunch of scammers.. So hopefully someone finds this comment page just like i did and doesn't fall for there bull..

This is a scam/fake law firm/and/or fake Car company claiming you're eligible for a loan. Anybody who receives similar calls or can provide more details, leave a reply.
