Computer scan! Claimed I had a severe virus. Told her I was not interested and I was reporting this to the FCC!
(this scam has been going on for quite some time, something needs to be done ASAP!)

Stated that they were providing a service to check if we were one of the thousands of people in our area that had experienced computer hacking issues. Requested that I log onto my computer and follow their directions. I stated that I did not currently have access to my computer and requested the instructions so I could check for myself. The female representative then got a male representative to speak to me requesting that I log onto my computer. I asked why I couldn't check this myself later and he said something about me not knowing all the people in the world. I said that's rediculous and it has absolutely nothing to do with my computer. I then told him that I did not believe him. He became upset and told me I was rude. I told him that was alright I was saying good-bye now. He said GOOD-BYE? GOOD-BYE? and he hung up.

A woman with heavy East Indian accent stated that she was calling about my computer. She alleged that it was heavily infected with virus. I hung up on her and called back the numeber on my caller ID. The number was a "spoof".

That if I opened up WORD on my computer they could help me avoid hackers - didn't listen to the whole call so don't know what else they would have requested - I'm sure they wanted access to my computer

They said they worked for a Security Firm in New York City and that my computer was a high risk because of some terrible files that were downloaded on it and that I needed to let them help me get rid of these files.

I was informed that I needed to download their software because someone was accessing my computers.

The caller said my husband had downloaded a virus on his computer and wanted to talk to him. This of course is a scam to obtain confidential information about the computer for the purpose of identity theft.

Told me I had a security threat on my computer that they noticed and wanted to fix by having sit at my computer and type in information. When I told him, he was a scam, the caller (foreign voice) told me he would "come over and have some fun with my family." When I demanded his name or for him to provide my name, he said I could hang up. When I didn't hang up in an attempt to get his name, he told me the call was costing me $20 a minute.They said they would fix the computer problem "off-line." Which I knew was not possible.
