Answered the phone "hello, this is XXX," the woman asks to speak to XXX, butchering it. I tell her I've already answered with my name and she says, "I guess I didn't hear you" and hangs up. So yeah, a telemarketer bugs ME and then hangs up.

An unwanted call from this L.A. VOIP number arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.

Posters report many different scams originating from this number, including solar energy, home repairs, reverse mortgage, ad nauseum. No matter what the pitch may be, a scam is a scam is a scam (with apologies to a famous 20th century poet). Even the venerable website www.whitepages.com describes this number as "scam or fraud."

DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED BY THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

Showed up as ENERGY CALIFORNIA. I called from another phone and the first thing I got was press 9 to be put on DO NOT CALL LIST. Blocked!

I get calls every week to my cell phone. I block every number; I never answer and yet it continues. Solar, construction AC/heat, IRS scam shit fks, free cruise, and lower your credit card rates.
