The same thing just happened to me. This guy has been doing this for months now. He spoofs different phone numbers and ID's to make you think that he is really with a number of government agencies. It is always someone with an Indian or Pakistan accent. I answered and told him off. He continued to call over and over and I just let it go to the answering machine. He was persistent, he called over and over for about 20 straight minutes, then finally gave up! Everyone should report this guy.

Scammer trying to scare people into thinking they have a legal matter with the U.S. Treasury. Man called saying his name was Nelson Carter (sounded like he was from India or Pakistan) and he was calling on behalf of a Revenue Officer named Taylor. He asked for our Attorney's name saying that it was a legal matter and would result in our arrest if we did not provide this info. My husband asked for their address. Carter provided the address for the Los Angeles Immigration Office. NO other specifics were provided about our "case", what specifically it related to? We hire a CPA to do our taxes. My husband told Carter that our CPA provides all current address changes to the IRS with our taxes. Why would the IIRS not have our current address and have an old address from four years ago, a home we sold and no longer lived at? This Carter had no response. Called the Boise Attorney General's Office and they confirmed this is one of the top 3 scams going on right now and to file a complaint with the Fraud hotline in D.C. with the IRS 1-800-359-3898

Called the number again spoke to Carter who acted like he was getting officer Taylor, who also had an accent from India or Pakistan. He said there was a warrant out for our arrest and that we can give money to the police. Very creepy organization, PLEASE FILE REPORT with the Fraud prevention line in D.C. Help stop this scam!!
