We received a recorded message stating they were from the Attorney General's office of the IRS. They left two numbers to call back: 213-446-7950 and 206-855-5581. - I'd like to know why we can't report these numbers to the IRS or FBI so they can take action? At least we can report them here on this site.
First clue, the first time they called they said this was my final notice and the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us. Second clue, no name mentioned. I could have 5 roommates, how do we know who is being sued?
I received two calls from this number today. First left a voicemail, second time I decided to pick up and see how fake it is. Second call was a prerecording telling me to call the number that just called. Call them, the man on the other line claimed to be officer Tony Foster and he had a very heavy accent. Asked If I could verify my address, the one he had on file was from college, in a different state then I live now and was from about 10 years ago. Then asked to verify the last 4 of my social and I told him no and he said that he could not go any further in the conversation. Here is what the IRS has to say about these people https://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Phone-Scams-Continue-to-be-a-Serious-Threat,-Remain-on-IRS-Dirty-Dozen-List-of-Tax-Scams-for-the-2016-Filing-Season
