213-995-6262: The business this guy said was Apex Resolutions. He started threatening me and stated as well that I would go to jail if i didnt pay for this debt. Can they do that? it seems like a SCAM to me

I got a call from this number (213) 995-6262 he stated the business name was apex resolutions and that I owe 500 dollar over from a bank of america account in 2011. If I don't pay it I would go to jail and in-regarding a check all the way from 2011. I have no recollection of writing a check for that amount. He was very rude and was trying to scare me. Its just baffling when people call and say you need to pay something when that never happened and their lying just to get money out of you.
