I just got the same call
Recording Saying it was officer Hoffman from the IRS that there is a warrant on me and my address to call back
Claiming to be Officer Mark from IRS and threatening me have the INS officer handcuff me if I do not paid the $1950 I owed the IRS from back taxes. He said I am being charged for tax evasion. The taxes from 2008 thru 2013 was fraudulently filed, thus, I am being audited. I told him I never heard of such a thing. He said if I dont pay now, the officer will arrest/handcuffed me at work. Even my wife, he said they will handcuff as well. As I was trying to get more information, he became very defensive but urging me to go to the nearest moneygram and wire the amount, in this case he asked me how much do I have right now of which I said I have $400. I insisted that I need proof of these allegations but he hanged up.
By the way, at the beginning, he informed me that the conversation is being recorded and that I do not interrupt him at any given time during the conversation. I must admit, it gave me a creep but then realized that this is bogus. IRS, INS, or Homeland Security, of which he alleged he is working hand in hand will have to send a notification letter for it to be valid.
Just got a call from 214-306-6063 claiming to be an agent from the IRS. Apparently, I owe $ to the IRS and six agents were on their way to arrest me! Where I would be questioned for six hours!! As soon as I questioned his statement he hung up. I noticed this number called my cell twice in a short period of time.
If you have been called by this number and they claimed to be an IRS agent over the phone please report the incident to the office of the treasury inspector general at: https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml
