I wish I had known it was the NRA calling -- I didn't look up the number right away. If I'd had the chance, I would have asked them why their organization is so far removed from reality? Most people in the US support common sense gun regulations that also protect the 2nd amendment, which states:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
I would add that many people leave the first phrase of that sentence out of the discussion when they mention the 2nd amendment. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is in service to the creation and maintenance of a "well-regulated" militia -- why does the NRA then oppose any and all regulations on guns? The 2nd amendment clearly, in the very first part of the amendment, calls for regulations. Is the NRA against the US Constitution?
Its the NRA. You're membership has expired. They are soliciting for you to rejoin. If its a problem ask them to remove you from their list. Or, just rejoin. The discounts, insurance and other benefits are worth the membership. Either way, you know now who is calling.
