I wrote a report about these
callers that I received on my cell phone this afternoon. Beware! Tonight they are calling one's home landline phone.
This number belongs to B. Kaufman in Maple Hgts, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland). Either someone at this number is making harassing, threatening phone calls or this number was phished.
When the phone gets answered, there is a live who says one of two threatening things...
Either that they are Social Security and they have the charge of fraud against the fall's recipient OR in an harsh ugly manner "Identify Yourself! I want to talk to you!"
If you let the call go to voice mail, they do not leave any message.
This is NOT Social Security. The U.S. Government would not be calling from a Cleveland suburb. They would not be using a phished phone number. They would not be threatening in demeanor... and they would not be calling out of the blue. They would contact a person by mail first.
This is beyond the usual scamming. It is threatening against you personally and it is harassment, as well as maybe criminal.
No message left Caller ID'd as Kaufman B
Called and not leave a voice mail
