This call was made on a phished landline phone number, who ironically is from my small suburban community of Cleveland. The real owner of this number belongs
to a lady who lives in my suburb... it is NOT DISNEY.
It is the same call I have received many times from many phisher phone numbers.
After you pick up the phone, there is dead silence until you say "Hello". After which a female to go voice starts the same old spiel... giggles and then it says "Oh, hello there, paddon me I was fixing my headphones and then in the name of Disney the recipient is told their records show you have stayed at their resorts and that you are either being offered or have won a resort stay. Then as you get to then end of the call their is a prompt to talk to a live person who tries to con a person into believing the call and it can be all yours for a"fee". They will then ask you for your credit card number and end the call. You have no stay and your fee turns into a maxed out credit card with them knowing your personal identity as well as your financial information... all stolen.
DISNEY would not operate like this using phished numbers
and as a greater Clevelander, I can assure you there is no legit Disney entity up here making these calls.
Do Not fall for this! The Ohio Atty General's office verifies that all these kinds of calls are scams. They say these calls are so rampant currently, it is difficult for law enforcement to track the callers down.
